We get to the Petrified Forest in New Mexico and it is HOT HOT !

Look at all them blocks of Petrified wood .( solid Money )

Take a look at what the wood looks like when you split it . NICE !

Huge pieces of petrified wood hundreds and hundreds of years old

Just one sample of the many pieces that can be found in this park . There are check points where they check cars and other vehicles for the presios petrfied wood . So we could not pickup any pieces.

The Park Ranger told us that the reason the wood is where it is because of a flood many years ago .

This piece is being held by concrete because it was struck by lighting and seperated it.

Stilll in New mexico but know we are where a meteir hit and left a huge creater in te groung . we have our hand on a piece that was found in that area .

It has been a long day but productive .

We have been thru New Mexico so many times and have never visited the Petrified Forest National Park.....looks like a very interesting place to see. We will have to some by someday in the winter or fall when it is not so hot. Great Pictures!
